MechCAD Ltd is a mechanical engineering consultancy established in the year 2000 and based in Auckland, New Zealand.

are contract design engineers for:

The typical delivery is a set of engineering detailed drawings suitable for manufacture, and depending on the project
complexity, supporting calculations and prototypes. We can advise the steps for a development project, and point out
affiliates and companiess for prototyping and testing.
As principal of the firm, Ben Smit BE(mech) combines both a practical background with an
honours mechanical engineering
degree.

| MechCAD Ltd are mechanical engineers specialising in project and engineering design. We are contractors, moving engineering design projects forward from instigation to detailed drawings. MechCAD was established in the year 2000. As principal of the firm, Ben Smit BE(mech) combines both a pratical background with an honours mechanical engineering degree. Our tools include Solidworks, 3D CAD for design and Cosmosworks Finite element analysis for in depth structural analysis. Our eexpericence includes structural analysis, dynamics, vibration and fluid flow calculations. We are not specialist engineering analysts, but we do have a strong background with analysis intensive projects. Prototyping is generally best outsourced, with the diversity of CAD to profile cutting and 3D rapid prototyping processes now available. We also have a workshop available for simple prototyping and testing. |
